The Spartan SmartGrid Connections
Power Companies are installing AMR (automatic meter reading) in the utility industry, these are a first-generation smart meter technology. They are intended to make it easy for utilities to collect meter readings. Instead of requiring access to your home, workers need simply drive or walk by a house with a handheld terminal and the current meter readings are they will transmit themselves to home base. Spartan connects at the meter and feeds this information into the Home Automation System.
Spartan clients have the need to connect and manage the LEED building they just completed. Owners must send Energy Meter Reports and other LEED reports to maintain membership. Spartan provides service contracts, online help services to meet these objectives.
Building Automation Systems
Examples of Building Automation systems is to control:
- Check water pipes to determine leaks
- Monitor outdoor spaces via advanced video camera security tied to flood lights, alarms, and doors.
- Allow repairmen into the home via work, speak to them via 2 way video, and monitor and record their activity
- Monitor nursery for baby needs
- Program the room logic to behave as you wish when you walk in the room. For example, draw the shades, turn on fans, turn on electrical outlets for TV.
- Spartan SmartGrid, utilizes occupancy sensors to turn on fans and lights, HAVC systems, room electrical outlets to further automate.
- Smartmeters monitor incoming KW at the panel power and as it relates to all incoming power billing.
Net Zero Energy
SmartGrid then connects the building via two 3KW Tesla Powerwall battery inverter systems, with 6KW of total power. You have a laptop/iphone Lithium Ion battery running your house saving power from panels, wind, generators, and local grid power.
Installation of 10 – 400 Watt Panels, 4KW of Solar with one 2.4KW Wind Turbine
The Internet of Things
The Internet of Things does not need to be complicated. The Internet of Things is here today, and it’s a practical and applicable technology trend that can generate return on investment (ROI) and drive building automation efficiencies, and know-how with concise systems that manage everything in the background.
These connected “things” are producing large amounts of information. By tapping into those data streams and connecting them to the cloud and back-end systems, Spartan provides our clients with the building data that optimize business processes, make more informed decisions, identify new revenue opportunities.
One example is Hotspot Wireless Technology which captures all the data from cell phones that pass by and allows building owners as to when you frequent malls, stores, restaurants etc. in the area.
Appliance makers are integrating space and refrigerator systems that enables customers to reorder consumable groceries from local grocers pick or delivery systems, home products, like soaps, detergent, from Amazon with a single press of a button.
Television and Entertainment Systems – 4K Televisions and Amazon Prime Video’s 4K content, offers hundreds of titles in the new format and Spartan provides the complete choice for setting up home entertainment as part of the new construction. Entertainment is one of the highest cost items for clients that seek to reduce dependency on Cable TV, SAT-TV etc.
